The Bee’s Knees
The phrase “the bee’s knees” was slang during the Prohibition era to mean, “the best.” This classic gin sour cocktail, very popular at the time, used lemon and honey to mask the harsh smell of bootleg bathtub gin. (Yikes.) Equally at home in a speakeasy or at a casual dinner party, this cocktail has stood the test of time. The Brothers have put their own soothing CBD twist on the drink, just in time for your Thanksgiving dinner party. Keep reading to see what all the buzz is about!*
Why We’re Buzzin’
The Bee’s Knees is a simple, three-ingredient stunner. No fancy bar tools or hours spent muddling mint leaves or simmering down simple syrup. Just combine, shake and strain – in two minutes or less, you’re ready to party. Oh and the best part? You probably have all the ingredients chillin’ at home. Our one suggestion – bust out the fancy glassware for this one. An elegant coupe glass will elevate this simple cocktail and bring it back to its Prohibition era beginnings.*
Health Benefits of Honey
In addition to tasting great, raw honey is an amazing source of antioxidants and has natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Honey actually naturally contains the antiseptic agent hydrogen peroxide. Raw honey is also chock full of phytonutrients, which are derived from plants and contain their own antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. Honey can help soothe a sore throat and quiet a noisy cough. Finally, honey can also soothe digestive issues from ulcers to upset tummies.*
CBD Cocktails For A Better Thanksgiving
You may have noticed CBD cropping up in cocktails and health drinks at your local haunts. Derived from hemp, CBD is the non-psychoactive cousin to THC. CBD has been used for hundreds of years to reduce chronic pain, relieve anxiety, promote sleep, and boost mood. The holidays are the most magical (and stressful) time of year. With flights to catch, gifts to buy, family dinners to cook and endless gatherings to attend, everyone could use a little herbal help. That’s why we crafted the Brothers Bee’s Knees CBD Honey Cocktail. When combined with the calming effects of a good gin, CBD works to promote a sense of ease, no matter how hectic your family dinner gets. Our recipe combines a good gin (we like Portland Dry Gin from local New Deal Distillery), Brothers Apothecary Wild Rosin Honey and fresh lemons. Our Wild Rosin Honey is handcrafted with full-spectrum, terpene-rich Hemp Rosin and blended with sustainable, ethically harvested raw wildflower honey. Each teaspoon contains an estimated 20MG of CBD.*
