Spiced CBD Chai Old Fashioned
My favorite restaurant closed last year, and with that closing, away went the best Old Fashioned in town. Major bummer.
In that past year, before lockdown, I went on the exhaustive search for the best Old Fashioned, and I never found it. I wanted something nutty (their’s was a Black Walnut Old Fashioned), but also thought some spice would be nice. Nothing too hot, but enough to give a more complex, wintery profile. So began my search to make the best. And then it hit me: what is better than combining the best cocktail with CBD…? So yes, naturally I said to myself “Let’s try to make a CBD Chai Old Fashioned.”
The perfect Old Fashioned should be smooth and silky, with a rich, full finish and that nice bourbon kick. Adding in an element of spice, this instantly made me think of our Chai Awakening. Sure, this tea is caffeinated and it may not make the best nightcap, but that’s okay. The slight caffeine boost would be light enough to brighten the mind without keeping it up late.
Plus, it’s the perfect cozy fall beverage that warms you up! It’s toasty, spiced, and invigorating. Chai just makes sense.
